FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need PMU experience?
Experience is recommended, but not required. Nano Brows/Machine Hairstrokes is a new technique for most artists, therefore beginners with no experience are welcome.
How much is the 4 day masterclass?
$2495.
A $500 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit is required to secure your seat (only 3 seats available per masterclass). This deposit is applied to the full tuition cost.
The remaining $1995 will be due the week before in-person training begins.
Both the $500 deposit, and the remaining $1995, can be paid via Afterpay (buy now, pay later).
How do I get the online course?
All students are required to complete my comprehensive online course prior to coming in for their scheduled in-person masterclass. The course is incredibly comprehensive, with several hours worth of written theory, explanations, and videos included to best-prepare you for your in-person training.
Once you've paid the $500 deposit to secure your seat, I will send you a link to the online course.
Will I work on a live model?
Yes, but please read carefully:
- all students are required to provide their own model as a business practice (yes, even if you’re traveling in from out of state). if you do not have a model on day 4, you will instead complete your procedure on a mannequin
- all students performing a nano brows procedure on a live model must have a current body art license/registration. if you don’t have one, you can obtain a temporary license from the Contra Costa County Health Department & I will guide you in obtaining one
- note: if you are unlicensed and planning to work on a live model during training, you will be doing so at my studio/training facility in San Ramon, California - a city within Contra Costa County. This is the reason why the temporary license must be obtained from Contra Costa County, and not from the county that you reside in, per California Health Department regulations.
Is a kit included?
Not included in the masterclass tuition cost, but available for purchase separately is a PMU Starter Kit. Cost: $300 (+$400 value).
Includes PMU Machine (Mast P20), Cartridges (Mast Ocean Heart, 20 mixed sizes), Hanafy Hairstrokes mini set (pigment), anesthetic, latex & silicone practice skins, plus all necessary brow mapping and procedure supplies that I use.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion once in-person training commences.

If you're looking for nano brows training in California, like I mentioned earlier: there is no shortage of PMU education available today.
The challenge isn't finding a class to take. The challenge is in finding training that actually helps the technique make sense so that you can take those skills and use them in your own PMU business, with confidence.
Nano brows/machine hairstrokes require so much more than just memorizing how to draw out a pattern. Successful nano brow results are the product of understanding your machines, needles, pigments, your client's skin, your hand movement, stretching, pressure, depth, speed.. the list goes on.
Inside of my intimate Nano Brows Masterclass in San Ramon, California, students learn how all of these elements work together and in harmony to create natural-looking, hyper-realistic healed results.
My goal isn't to teach other artists how to copy my work. My goal is to teach other artists how to understand what they're doing and why they're doing it so that they can create their own beautiful style and art.
A HANDS-ON NANO BROWS COURSE FOR BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE PMU ARTISTS
This training is designed for both aspiring and experienced artists.
Some students join the course with no prior PMU experience and are looking for a structured introduction to nano brows.
Others are established in microblading, powder brows, or maybe already dabbling in nano brows - but are looking to really master this gorgeous technique that has been oh-so-clearly dominating the PMU industry.
My curriculum is intentionally designed to meet students where they are while providing a clear path towards developing safe, consistent, and repeatable results.
Because class sizes are intentionally kept small (3 students max per class), students receive individualized feedback throughout the training process.
WHY TRAIN IN PERSON?
While online education has become increasingly popular, nothing replaces hands-on instruction. We're tattooing people's faces! Would you trust someone to tattoo your face after they took an online course?
Probably not.
During the in-person portion of the training, students will:

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
I'm Katrina Baligaya, an internationally recognized PMU artist, educator, and venus Medal recipient specializing in natural-looking tattooed eyebrows.
I've been specializing in permanent makeup (specifically in eyebrows) since 2017, and teaching aspiring and experienced PMU artists since 2019.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of helping students develop their PMU skills, refine their technique, and understand their tools, resulting in more well-rounded, confident artists around the globe.
My teaching style focuses on clarity, structure, and understanding. Rather than overwhelming students with information overload, I break down complex concepts into manageable pieces that help the technique finally come together.
Whether you're completely new to PMU or looking to elevate your existing hairstroke work, my goal is to provide the knowledge, support, and guidance necessary to help you continue growing as an artist.
